Summary |
After his legendary work with Art Blakey's Jazz Messengers, the Second Miles Davis Quintet and his years with Weather Report, Wayne Shorter formed the Wayne Shorter Quartet in 2000, the first formation under his own name. He sees his celebrated soloists drummer Brian Blade, bassist John Patitucci, and pianist Danilo Perez less as sidemen than as equal elements of a living organism. They call their method "zero gravity," the basis of their explorative journeys into new musical territory. |
