A novel on a trio of women working for London's Quality Cleaners, an establishment supplying maids with high-class accents to the well-to-do. The three are a novelist, an artist and the owner of a houseboat. The novel follows them as they wash dishes and scrub floors for the very rich, until after losing their jobs they set up a business of their own, finding fulfillment and romance.
