Event Interview taped February 23 and 25, 2004, New York, N.Y.
Summary "Trisha Brown, one of the most acclaimed choreographers of contemporary dance, first came to notice in New York in the 1960s. With a group of like-minded artists that included Yvonne Rainer and Simone Forti, she pushed the limits of what was then considered appropriate movement for choreography and changed modern dance forever. Founding her own company in 1970, Brown developed her own choreography and style with her unique ideas of movement"--Container. This video collection includes eighteen performances from 1966 through 1979, as well as an interview with art historian Klaus Kertess wherein Brown talks about her early years in the New York dance community, various collaborative efforts and colleagues, and offers insights on her own work.
