Summary |
This is the story of Augusta Chiwy, a black Belgian nurse whose volunteer service in a US Army 10th Armored Division medical aid station during World War II's Battle of the Bulge exemplifies the best of the human spirit in the worst of times. This incredible true story begins with two nurses, Renee LeMaire and Augusta Chiwy, as they treat patients in the Bastogne aid station. LeMaire was killed on Christmas Eve and became famous as 'The Angel of Bastogne.' Meanwhile, Chiwy has been all but forgotten. |
