| Summary |
Thirtyish shoe salesman Bernie Fishbine shouldn't have a problem finding a girlfriend. He's sweet, considerate and romantic. Unfortunately, Bernie's also a little overweight. One night, Bernie meets Tress Garabaldi, a beautiful Italian-American psychology student. Bernie is captivated by her; Tress only sees him as the perfect subject for her thesis on overeating. Mistaking Tress' interest as romantic, Bernie begins an all-out weight-loss program, gaining confidence as he loses weight. Meanwhile, Tress finds herself spending more and more time with her subject. But Tress could never be interested in someone like Bernie. Or could she. |
