Summary London, 1911 and the coronation of George V is upcoming. Many of the worlds dignitaries are turning up for the event, including Prince Charles, the Regent of Carpathia, is running the country until his son King Nicolas comes of age in eighteen months. Nicolas is pro-German. Charles is pro-English. This would be unimportant but Carpathia has the fourth best army in Europe, and the young man is getting impatient. In an attempt to curry favor with the Prince, he is treated to a trip to see a musical, where he meets actress Elsie Marina. He has an appreciative eye for showgirls, but he gets more than he bargained for with Elsie. Introduced to the eccentric Queen Dowager, Elsie's unfamiliarity with royal protocol and manners charms her thoroughly, and Elsie ends up being made lady in waiting, and attends the coronation.
