Summary Jamaica Inn: Set on the Cornish coast of England in 1819. Mary comes to Jamaica Inn to stay with her aunt and uncle after the death of her mother. She falls in love with a police officer who is undercover in a group of pirates, trying to expose the leader of the gang.
Rich and strange: Fred and Emily Hill are a middle-class couple who lead routine lives until they receive an inheritance and decide to take off on an adventure trip around the world.
