Summary A dramatized account of the slave uprising led by laborer-turned-gladiator Spartacus, against the combined forces of the late Roman Republic. After escaping from a gladiator training ground, Spartacus convinces his fellow escapees to join him in an attempt to free all Roman slaves, and becomes the head of a massive revolt that threatens to overwhelm the power of Rome.
