Summary |
In 1913, Teresa dreams of leaving her life in Vermont, hitting the road to join a vaudeville troop, and sing in theaters across the country. Running away to New York, she becomes friends with Pietro, a talented African American dancer. But at a time when young black men could be lynched just for looking at a white girl, there are dangers in their relationship. |
